Anakin Skywalker, also known as Ani among friends and family, is the central character of the famous Star Wars saga. Both the original trilogy, and the prequel trilogy, focus on the rise of the character in his knowledge of the Force, his fall to the dark side and finally his redemption. In the films of the First Trilogy, Anakin is a child who becomes a Jedi Knight. As revealed in Star Wars: Episode V - The Empire Strikes Back and Star Wars: Episode VI Return of the Jedi, he is the alter-ego of Sith Lord Darth Vader. Anakin is the husband of Senator Padmé Amidala and the father of Luke Skywalker and Princess Leia.
